Hammer dad tried to kill his kids while on a drug-crazed bender before crashing into a pub
Owen Scott, 29, was jailed for attempted murder after attacking his three children and stepchild with a hammer while on a cocaine and cannabis-induced psychosis
A DRUG-crazed dad tried to kill his children with a hammer before crashing his car into a pub.
Owen Scott, 29, took his three kids and stepchild from his ex-partner’s home after a cocaine and cannabis bender and disappeared for two days.
Drug-induced psychosis meant he wrongly believed he was protecting them from an “evil gang”.
The scaffolder, of Fawley, Hants, was seen on the Isle of Wight and in the North West before driving at 92mph into a Barnsley pub last August.
His sons, nine months and two, seven-year-old daughter and stepdaughter, eight, now have life-long learning difficulties.
Scott admitted attempted murder and was jailed for 28 years at Sheffield crown court.
