Rising trend of DIY poo transplants puts the health of IBS, Crohn’s disease patients at risk, experts say
There are thousands of videos on 'fecal transplant' now on YouTube - including 'how to' guides - a trend fed by quacks' false promises as there are people who 'will try anything'
A RISING trend for DIY poo transplants risks people’s health, experts say.
The NHS safely uses the method, putting purified waste from a healthy donor into a recipient with bug C.diff.

This has fuelled interest in the practice, with 4,260 videos on the subject of “fecal transplant” now on YouTube - including “how to” guides.
California’s Prof Rob Knight says using poo that has not been screened by health officials is dangerous.
Professor Knight warned patients risked Aids, hepatitis, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, obesity, anxiety and insomnia.
