A STUDENT who had to call 999 when his Tinder date got wedged in his bathroom window as she tried to throw away a poo has revealed he's still looking for love.

After unlucky Liam Smith's horror date hit the headlines last year, he vowed to take the unfortunate girl for a second drink - but has since revealed that she friendzoned him.

He said: "We still talk on Facebook every now and again and after going through everything we have stayed friends.

"I’m single at the moment but still looking of course."

The 24-year-old had invited the unnamed woman back to his flat in Bristol to watch TV and share a bottle of wine after their Nandos meal.

But the date turned to disaster when she left to go to the toilet, and panicked when her poo wouldn't flush.

Speaking on ITV's Lorraine show, he told how the catastrophe unfolded - and revealed that it was him who threw the fateful faeces.

Retelling the story to Christine Lampard, he explained: "She said, 'Liam I’m afraid to say I’ve been to the toilet and it wouldn’t flush.'"

"I panicked a bit and I wrapped it up in tissue paper and threw it out of my window but unfortunately it got stuck between two panes of glass.

"She decided she was going to climb into the window and grabbed it and passed it out and we took it and put it back into the toilet."

The firemen were forced to smash the glass to rescue the woman, meaning that Liam was a bathroom window short.

He set up a Gofundme page to cover the cost of the glass - and raised an extra £2,500 after his story went viral.

He has now split the additional funds between the Fire Fighters Charity and Toilet Twinning.

They help build latrines for people living in poverty in developing countries and the money has paid for 20 toilets in Malawi.

Liam said: "It was a crazy thing to happen, but it's amazing to have had such an impact in the developing world as a result.

"I was expecting to raise a few hundred quid for the window, and maybe get an interview on the local radio. I was never expecting this to go as far as it did."

Malawi village leader Spencer Khunga said: "There's a big change.

"People used to have to go to the hospital a lot but now they are working for the improvement of our community.

"Every so often, I go round checking people are washing their hands with soap. Now we have a good life."

Toilet Twnning CEO Lorraine Kingsley said: "Liam's decision to mention us in his crowdfunder was a PR gift for us as the story went viral.

"It raised our profile across the world and enabled 20 households in Malawi to have a life-changing loo, so we are extremely grateful to him."
