The Ugly Betty star said she found her husband's body in a silver Mercedes in the garage and quickly called emergency services for help.
But devastatingly, the actor - who starred in a number of hit TV shows including EastEnders and The Bill - was unable to be saved on the night of November 30 last year.
In a statement the actress said: "I am truly devastated about Terry's death and I will never ever forget what happened that night.
"I had no idea he was capable of doing what he did."

Remembering Terence Beesley's top TV performance as Derek Branning in EastEnders following his death

The couple, who met in 1999 while both were involved in a London theatre production of King Lear, were married for ten years and had one son together.
Ms Jensen, best known for her role in Extras alongside Ricky Gervais and her 10-year stint in the US comedy Ugly Betty, remembered her husband as "independent and outgoing".
During his career Mr Beesley also featured in Where the Heart Is, Casualty, Victoria and Midsomer Murders.

Avon Coroner's Court heard that he died of carbon monoxide toxicity.
Concluding the inquest, Assistant Coroner Dr Peter Harrowing recorded Mr Beesley's death as suicide.
He said it had been a "deliberate act", adding: "I offer my sincerest condolences to his family and friends."
