Brits’ ideal dates and top fantasies from sex tapes to role play revealed
Men and women have different needs and different wants but both want passion in the bedroom - here are some tips to turn up the heat on Valentine's Day
IT’S the most romantic day of the year – but we can reveal that couples are not always in harmony over how they like to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
The Sun on Sunday carried out a survey into the nation’s bedroom habits, sexual fantasies and romantic views about the big day on Wednesday.
It shows that 40 per cent of men want a steamy evening in a hotel, while a quarter of women would prefer a romantic meal at home, cooked by their loved one.
Psychologist and relationship expert Emma Kenny said: “It makes perfect sense. Men need sex to feel loved and women need emotion to feel loved.
“There is a compromise though. He could cook a meal, then they could retire to the bedroom for passion afterwards.
“If both needs are to be met and a great relationship sustained, couples need to spend time together — then have a hot night between the sheets.”
Our poll of 2,000 Brits shows that blokes were also more risque with their Valentine’s fantasies.
One in five said they would like to make a sex video, but women put trying out role play top of their list.
Emma warns that couples should be careful about filming themselves in intimate moments.
She says: “Making a sex tape and role play are very similar fantasies. You could incorporate them both.
PASSION TIP
Get away: Taking yourself out of everyday life – the home, the kids – makes everything more exciting
“A sex tape is a man’s fantasy because it’s very visual. They see something and it turns them on.
Women need to be titillated and to have their brain imagine things. That’s why role play is their biggest fantasy — they can get in the mood.
“If you’re going to make a sex tape that you’ll watch together, it makes sense to play roles, because that takes the pressure off being who you are and you can be more inventive.
“But it’s best to make one, watch it then destroy it. Nobody wants a video of themselves emerging months down the line.”
No sex surprises: Planning a kinky shock is a disaster most of the time as you base it on your fantasy, not your partner’s
The car topped a list of the naughtiest places people had sex, with just over a quarter confessing to steaming up the windscreen.
The beach was second at 16 per cent and eight per cent had sex in the office, while twice as many said they had only ever done it in the bedroom.
Joining the Mile High Club by having sex on a flight was fulfilled by seven per cent, and five per cent had sex in a bar, four per cent on a train and three per cent on a boat.
PASSION TIP
