BGT star, 15, who was saved by £175,000 surgery paid for by Simon Cowell performs incredible gymnastic flip
After reaching the final as part of dance troupe The Mersey Girls, Julia Carlile, 15, feared her career was over when docs diagnosed her with severe scoliosis
THIS is the astonishing moment a teenage BGT contestant showed off the results of a £175,000 spinal operation paid for by Simon Cowell - by performing a flawless gymnastic routine on live TV.
After wowing the mogul as part of dance troupe The Mersey Girls, Julia Carlile,15, feared her career was over when docs diagnosed her with severe scoliosis.
Despite the pain, brave Julia soldiered on through the auditions as the group wowed the judges on the way to the final.
She impressed Simon Cowell so much that he agreed to fly her to Los Angeles for the life-changing surgery - and six months later she is back dancing with her friends.
The gruelling operation involved breaking seven of her ribs before fitting screws and a cord down her spine.
She said on This Morning: "They said it would be three months until I could start dancing again.
"It came to three months and I thought "Oh, I can start dancing.
"I realised I'd lost strength, flexibility and confidence, because I was terrified to do this."
She then performed a perfect 'front walkover' to cheers and applause from the stunned audience.
The schoolgirl is set to perform for the first time since the operation at the Britain's got Talent Big Celebration this weekend.
