Swedish property tycoon’s ex-wife who won £90million in a divorce is fighting for a bigger payout
The multi-millionaire magnate's ex could have got more if it hadn't been for Brexit and the pre-nup
A WIFE who won £90million in a divorce from a tycoon says her payout was “unfair” and is fighting for more.
Camilla Versteegh, 52, agreed a pre-nup before her 1993 wedding to multi-millionaire Gerard Versteegh, signing away any right to share his wealth.
In 21 years of marriage, they had three children and lived in a £60million home in Kensington, West London.
But the couple, from Sweden, split in 2014 and she was handed £90million in cash and assets when their court battle ended in January last year.
The judge said he would have awarded her more but for the pre-nup and the effect of Brexit “uncertainties” on Mr Versteegh’s property empire.
But her barrister has now insisted at the Court of Appeal that “justice and fairness demands” she ought to have got about £25million more.
