SPOT THE DOG

Can you pick out the pets perfectly hidden in their Sun readers’ homes?

Sun readers have been sending in snaps of their lovable pooches as they turn 'invisible' relaxing on their owners' carpets and rugs

IT’S a case worthy of Sherlock Holmes’s attention – the mysterious case of the vanishing pooches.

After The Sun highlighted the story of Marley the mutt and the disappearing trick he pulls off when he sits on his owners’s rug, readers have been flooding the paper with pics of their very own four-legged friends ‘disappearing’.

But can eagle-eyed readers find just where the adorable dogs are hiding?

Our top pic shows Sophie relaxing at home in Spalding, Lincolnshire where she lives with owner Norman Watson.

Calling all dog lovers. Does your camouflaged pooch vanish at home? Send your pictures into The Sun [email protected]

(Clue - it's not the toy dog to the right of the door.)

But when she's on the rug she vanishes from sight.

...and here are some that didn't quite make the cut

Despite some good intentions, some of our gorgeous doggies didn't quite make the grade.

Marley, a two-year-old slate-grey Borkie, has been given the nickname ‘Hound-ini’ by his owners because when he sits on the lounge rug he disappears from view as he is the same colour.

Matthew Young, 23 and Harley Edmonds, 21, then have to tread very carefully  not wanting to step on their beloved pooch.

Ms Edmonds, of Swinton, Manchester said: “We moved into the house nearly a year ago and the first thing we did was go out to buy a big fluffy rug from Ikea to make the living room cosier – and that’s when the dog went missing.

“Marley’s fur and the rug are exactly the same, when he’s on it he is completely camouflaged and to make matters worse it is his favourite place to be. He’s permanently attached to it.

“There will be times when I’m sat on the couch watching TV and then I panic and ask Matthew, ‘Where’s Marley?’

“We’ll go and hunt for him around the house and upstairs and then realise he was actually sat on the rug the whole time.

“We’re always tripping over him and when you’re crossing the room you need to be so careful. Marley is tiny and the rug is huge so he could be anywhere on there.

“The amount of times I’ve accidentally stepped on his paw or tail because I just haven’t seen him is awful. He lets out this little yelp and I’m completely mortified, I feel so bad.”

Now other Sun readers have got in contact to show off the camouflage skills of their loveable doggies – can you spot where they are hiding?
