A BOXING match between a pair of YouTube stars is set to bag more viewers than the Wimbledon or FA Cup finals.
KSI and Joe Weller – who made their names playing video games – took each other on at London's Olympic Park last night.
Around 1.6million people reportedly tuned in to watch the fight live – boxing's largest live audience since Joshua v Klitschko last April.
And over 20million – more than saw last year's Wimbledon or FA Cup finals – are predicted to watch on catch-up, according to the .
Weller started stronger but KSI started to gain the upper hand as the fight went on.
The referee stopped the match in the third round as Weller took a battering from his rival.
Hype over the fight grew in the weeks leading up to it as the pair goaded each other on social media.
Even the news conference to announce the bout earned 13million views after Weller and KSI starting shoving each other and a security guard was floored in the melee.
The 7,500-seat fight venue was a sell-out with tickets at up to £66 each, while some £100,000 was spent in bets by Friday.
Ladbrokes' Alex Apati said: "For a fight no one really knows about, and no one can really call, it attracted a lot of interest on the betting front.
"According to our books, this fight is more popular with punters than an actual professional bout between two upcoming British fighters."
The two vloggers exchanged jibes about how many YouTube followers they had at a pre-fight event at York Hall in London’s East End on Friday.
Joe Weller, the bookies' narrow favourite with 4.7million followers, said: "No amount of subscribers are going to be able to save anyone in this situation.
"You are going to be getting knocked out."
Olajide Olatunji – known as KSI to his 17.5million subscribers, replied: "When you lose, you're gonna start crying again ... I'm going to box you to death.
"I'm going to come like a thousand trains."
Both rose to fame as online video gamers before branching out into music, films and books on the back of their online success.
