Cops hunt cruel thugs who shot and battered a four-month-old puppy to death and left it hanging from a tree
Brutally beaten chihuahua-terrier mix found shot with a BB gun and hanged by her leash in what one animal welfare officer described as a “the worst one he’s seen’
A MANHUNT has been launched after a four-month-old puppy was found hanging from a tree.
Apparently the puppy, who is believed to be a Chihuahua-terrier mix, had been shot with a BB gun and strung up by her leash.
An £8,400 reward has now been offered for anyone who has information on the puppy's killer.
Chief animal control officer Jase Huggins told “It's a horrific case.
“It's probably the worst one I've seen since I've been here working for the city.”
A walker found the savagely beaten pup, who weighed just 12 pounds, on bike path near Riverside Boulevard, in Sacramento, USA.
Mr Huggins said: “From nose to tail, there wasn't any part of this puppy that didn't have fractures somewhere on her body.
“She had abdominal trauma that was so bad that the veterinarian described her liver to look like hamburger meat.”
Residents are calling for the killer to be brought to justice.
Steven Beard, who lives in the area, told KTXL said: “I'm watching everything all the time when I'm down here cause you never know when they're gonna come out.”
Mr Huggins said investigators are relying on the public for help in making an arrest.
