Wetherspoons is doing a £20 Valentine’s Day meal deal – and steaks are back on the menu
EATING out on Valentine's Day can be a love-rat on your wallet - but Wetherspoons' is playing Cupid with their two course menu for lovebirds for £20.
You can get two main meals, desserts and a drink each and steak is back on the menu.
The pub chain removed the steaks earlier this week by order of the Food Standards Agency as the supplier Russell Hume is as the centre of a growing food hygiene crisis.
But today it confirmed that the steaks will be ready to order from January 30 after they found a new supplier.
Normally, the steak meal with a drink costs around £7 on steak night each so two will cost £14. But that doesn't include a pudding each so you could be saving in the deal.
The sirloin steak is served with peas, tomato, mushroom and your choice of chips or jacket potato.
But if you don't fancy steak, you can also opt for the BBQ pork ribs, mixed grill or the BBQ chicken melt.
There's a Mediterranean vegetable lasagna for the veggie option.
The dessert menu includes the warm cookie dough sandwich with ice cream and the chocolate fudge cake with ice cream.
You can upgrade the package to a bottle of prosecco for a fiver, bringing the total bill to £25.
Because J.D. Wetherspoons is a franchise, prices vary depending on the pub and some restaurants might opt out of the romantic deal altogether, so it's worth checking before you head out.
