Black cab rapist John Worboys’ victims come forward with explosive new allegations

NEW VICTIMS of sex predator John Worboys came forward with explosive allegations about the black cab rapist.

Lawyers revealed they were submitting a “dossier of cases” to police and the Crown Prosecution Service as part of a last-ditch bid to keep the attacker behind bars.

Harriet Wistrich, solicitor at Birnberg Peirce, said: “The women that have come forward just feel he is incredibly manipulative and don’t believe he’s safe to be released.”

It came as Ms Wistrich launched a legal challenge to the Parole Board’s decision to let the rapist walk free - on behalf of two other victims raped and assaulted by Worboys over a decade ago.

Their legal challenge came just minutes after the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, launched his own to “put the safety of Londoners and the needs of victims first”.

The new cases involve two women who have come forward in recent weeks and a further two previously unreported cases dating back to 2002 and 2003 that passed the “evidential threshold” but were never prosecuted.

The Met Police earlier this week revealed they were investigating a new allegation against Worboys dating back to 1997.

Worboys was convicted of a dozen attacks a decade ago but it is thought he may have attacked 200 women.

The legal challenges will pile pressure on new Justice Secretary David Gauke.

He outraged MPs and victims a week ago by dropping plans for the Government to take legal action against the Parole Board decision – which emerged at the start of January.

Victims have urged the Secretary of State to impose a London-wide ban on Worboys if and when he is released.

Yesterday’s Judicial reviews centre on the Parole Board’s failure to “disclose” the reasons for its decision – and the failure to consult or inform his victims.
