Irn-Bru officially switch to new recipe using sweetener as Barr’s confirm they’ve stopped making original full-sugar version
The soft drinks company have confirmed the recipe has changed for good
IRN-BRU bosses have confirmed production of full-sugar version of the drink has now ended.
AG Barr say - is now being used at its factories and will hit the shelves this month.
The Scottish Sun revealed last week how production of the old version from 10.3g per 100ml to 4.7g.
The change has been brought in to beat the , which kicks in from April.

Tonight a spokesman for AG Barr confirmed production of the new recipe was now under way at Cumbernauld and Milton Keynes.
He added: “Most shoppers can expect to buy Irn-Bru with reduced sugar from later this month.
“Give it a try when it comes out.”
There is expected to be period of several weeks where former stock is used up, and both the old and new versions of the drink are on shop shelves.
So far 42,000 people had to cut sugar content in the famous drink - up from around 6,000 before
Barr’s have insisted insist their product will still be made “using the same secret Irn-Bru flavour essence”.
Sugar levels in a can will be cut from 8.5 teaspoons to four, with calories falling from 140 to around 65.
The firm and a spokesman said: “Most people can’t tell the difference - 9 out of 10 regular Irn-Bru drinkers told us we had a good or excellent taste match.”
