The ex-Tory boss is due to meet China's President Xi Jinping - but ahead of that is appearing at an event for wealthy business figures.

A flyer for the Shanghai International Ball and Leaders' Forum featured Mr Cameron accompanied by a price in Chinese renminbi.

It said the price of eating with the man who ruled in Number 10 from 2010 to 2016 and grabbing a selfie with him was around £12,000.

Last month Mr Cameron was handed a role in charge of a £750million fund to improve ports, roads and rail networks between China and its trading partners.
