DONALD Trump has branded author Michael Wolff a “total loser” while claiming his bombshell book Fire and Fury is “boring and untruthful.”
In an explosive tweet, the US President also claimed former White House chief strategist “Sloppy Steve Bannon” cried when he was fired and "begged" for his job back.
Bannon, who also worked on Trump’s successful election campaign, criticised the billionaire’s children in his interviews with Wolff.
On Friday evening, Trump tweeted: “Michael Wolff is a total loser who made up stories in order to sell this really boring and untruthful book.
“He used Sloppy Steve Bannon, who cried when he got fired and begged for his job. Now Sloppy Steve has been dumped like a dog by almost everyone. Too bad!”
Gossip columnist Wolff conducted around 200 interviews with White House staff for Fire and Fury which is set to be one of the biggest selling books of the year.
The litany of bombshell claims in the book include that First Lady Melania "cried" when Trump won the election.
The book also claims that Trump and his campaign team "didn't actually want to win the election" and that the President "eats cheeseburgers in bed while watching three TVs at once".
Another said that Trump's daughter, Ivanka, sought to become the "first woman president" - a plan she concocted with her husband Jared Kushner.
