BLING RING

Snaps of jobless shoplifter, 19, posing in Gucci print and diamante necklace revealed after she walks free from court in £1,825 designer outfit

Jobless Nafisa Akhtar, 19, escaped jail with pal Anashra Ali, 18 despite previously stealing £1,000 worth of goods from an Apple store. But she has since said it 'was never her plan to shoplift'

A TEEN who shamelessly punched the air after dodging jail for shoplifting walked free from court in a £1,825 designer outfit.

Nafisa Akhtar, 19, swiped £760 of goods from a Harvey Nichols store - decking herself out in Gucci accessories for her court appearance.

The outfit included a Dionysus GG Supreme Shoulder Bag that costs up to £1,580, and matching Gucci designer belt that retails for £245.

To complete her high-market look as she pleaded guilty for lifting £1,000 worth of goods from an Apple store, she wore a shining diamante choker, faux fur jacket and knee high boots - along with ripped jeans and large Halo Stud Earrings.

In other social media snaps, she was pictured wearing an iconic Gucci scarf costing £225 - although it is not clear if the items are genuine or not.

The young woman strutted out of court today, having brazenly grinned in the dock as she pleaded guilty with pal Anashra Ali, 18.

Her attitude flew in the face of Magistrate Suzie O'Donnell, who blasted: "When was the last time you worked? Why haven't you worked since?

"What possible explanations do you have? Why did you steal?

"You've got no job you go to Harvey Nichols to steal, do you think that is acceptable?

"Do you know the effect it has on the stores and everybody in this court room?

"The situation at the moment is that if you carry on like this, then you will find yourself in prison. This a serious matter. There is little mitigation on your behalf."

But the teen tonight told that she wasn't lazy, saying: "It was never my plan to shoplift, I know it's silly.

"I'm going to become a hairdresser now, I just hope this doesn't ruin my chances, that's why I'm so upset."

She said she had been working for a call centre up until last year until the company shut down.

Harvey Nicked! Stores uses real shoplifters in ad

The pair raided the Harvey Nichols store in Manchester - a favourite with soap stars and premier league footballers - in December after it opened late for Christmas shoppers.

Sharp-eyed security guard Will Foster spotted the thieves acting suspiciously on CCTV, before dashing to intercept them as they left the shop.

Prosecutor Risha Seth said: "He watched both of the girls make their way around the store on the CCTV systems, picking up items.

"The girls made their way towards the exits not going near the tills with no intention of paying for any of the items.

"They attempted to exit but were approached by the security guard and asked to go back inside where the items were recovered. They were able to be resold and there was no loss to the company."

Akhtar was ordered to complete a 12 month community order and 150 hours' unpaid work whilst Ali - who bleated she carried out the offence due to "peer pressure" - was handed a 12-month conditional discharge.
