Zara and Mike Tindall announce they are expecting their second child a year after miscarriage

THE QUEEN'S granddaughter Zara Tindall and her husband Mike are expecting their second child, the couple revealed today.

Her majesty and the royal family are "very pleased" to hear the couple's news, a Buckingham Palace spokesman said.

The couple are already parents to three-year-old Mia, who famously stole the show in the Queen's 90th birthday portrait by adorably clutching her great-grandmother's famous black handbag in the picture.

The announcement came as equestrian champion Zara and former England rugby player Tindall enjoyed a working holiday in Australia.

A spokeswoman for the couple said: "I can confirm Zara is pregnant with her second child."

The pregnancy comes just over a year since the couple lost a baby in the days before Christmas 2016, just a few weeks after the Tindalls had announced Zara was expecting.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: "The Queen and members of the royal family were very pleased to hear this news."

The announcement comes one year after the couple were left heartbroken on Christmas Eve when they lost their second child, just weeks after they had announced her pregnancy.

In June heartbroken Mike revealed how Mia helped him and wife Zara recover from the devastating miscarriage.

He said: "We were very lucky to have Mia in terms of what we've been through.

"The biggest thing you have is an outpouring of support and that was the best thing about social media... for a good reason for once, social media was a good thing for once.

Their child will be a second cousin to Prince George and Princess Charlotte. One-time Olympic hopeful Zara is also one of George's godmothers.

The announcement comes less than a week after a pregnant-looking Zara was spotted holidaying in Sydney.

She was snapped on an Australian Christmas break having lunch with her husband and pals.
