Brave Naomi, 25, says she has 'taken a moral stand' to forgive bitter former friend Mary Konye - but she 'doesn't deserve it'
ACID attack victim Naomi Oni has said the friend who left her scarred for life "doesn't deserve forgiveness".
The 25-year-old said she felt evil Mary Konye was not jailed for long enough when she was sentenced to 12 years for carrying out the horror attack.
But now just over five years later Naomi has taken the "moral stand" to "forgive and move on".
Naomi, then 20, was walking from work in Stratford, East London when she had the corrosive liquid thrown at her face.
Bitter pal Konye disguised herself in an Islamic veil before she pounced in December 2012.
Konye, believed to be jealous of Naomi's clear skin, even sent supportive messages to her in the hours after the sickening assault before police tracked her down.
Speaking on ITV's Good Morning Britain today, Naomi said: "I was quite close to her — she was a good friend of mine.
"At the time 12 years didn't feel like enough. Now I'm just like, whatever.
"She doesn't deserve [forgiveness]. Me being the person that I am and knowing my morals, my moral stand is to just forgive and move on.
She added: "I just hope, I know the best will come for me."
Brave Naomi also revealed plans to start her own make-up line — as she vowed to have the "freedom to be happy".
The former lingerie shop owner said she wants to "follow her dreams" just over five years on from her sulphuric acid horror.
Naomi told how she wanted to "have my own make-up line one day — my own business."
She added: "I've always been ambitious. Hopefully me overcoming this shows everyone just how ambitious I am."
Yesterday we told how Naomi had felt suicidal after she was left nearly blinded — but still forgave her attacker.
