A US tourist hijacked a Sky News interview outside Sandringham to propose to his girlfriend live on air.
The happy couple were among crowds waiting outside the Queen's Norfolk estate in the hope of catching a glimpse of the Royal Family as they made their way to a morning church service.
But as the interviewer turned to ask why it was so important for people to be at Sandringham today, the vox-pop took an unexpected turn.
The man, from Wisconsin, told the camera: "Because I want to spend the rest of my Christmases with her."
He then got down on one knee and produced a ring as fellow Royal fans watched on and cheered.
Luckily, for the old romantic, his on-air proposal didn't backfire.
His future bride began to break down in tears of joy, before announcing: "Yes. Oh my God, oh my God."
The woman, called Ashley, told the Sky News cameras her grandmother's ring was in the box but she had no idea what had been coming.
It then emerged the Sky News crew and waiting crowds had also been in on the outlandish proposal.
The engagement was even greeted in the studio by anchor Kay Burley, who said: "Fantastic, and thank goodness she said yes".
The loved-up couple said they plan to get married in 2020.
Prince Harry and his fiancee Meghan Markle have joined the Royal Family at Sandringham this Christmas.
They were seen joining William and Kate at the church service this morning.
