Jacob Rees-Mogg jokes that I’m A Celebrity winner Georgia Toffolo ‘should have gone to Specsavers’ after she admits she fancies him
JACOB Rees-Mogg has joked that Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo "should have gone to Specsavers" after she admitted she fancied him.
The I'm a Celebrity winner said yesterday she thinks the Tory backbencher is a "sex god" and that she has the hots for Zac Goldsmith too.
But the married Tory rising star shrugged off her advances today and joked that she should get her eyes tested.
He posted a link to the story on Twitter and joked: "Should have gone to Specsavers".
The 23-year-old Queen of the jungle, dubbed 'Boris in a bikini' said that she dreams of being a Tory MP and has offered up her services to the party.
She told the Sunday Times when asked who she fancied: "The standard: Zac Goldsmith, Jacob Rees-Mogg. I fancy them all. Jacob’s a sex god.”
The reality star said of the bespectacled Tory man: “The human mind can be sexy. He’s so clever, I just love him" adding “I fancy middle-aged politicians, but I’ve never been with one."
She praised Labour for striding ahead in the social media game, however.
“Sometimes politics can become snobby and archaic and I think Labour has done very well in not being like that recently."
Toffolo said she had long been a vocal Conservative supporter, but the party hasn't made the most of her huge online following.
“I’ve got 1.5m followers on Instagram. Yes, I might have blonde hair, go to the pub a lot and be on a reality show, but this is the way the world is going. Perhaps it’s time for them to embrace that,” she said.
Toffolo first became interested in politics at boarding school, where she and her best friend ran the Conservative campaign for a mock election in 2010.
“We got in touch with CCHQ [Conservative campaign headquarters] and they sent us lots of stuff,” she revealed.
“We hung up huge posters on the main road and got into so much trouble. We obviously won by a landslide and so did Dave [Cameron]. I’ve just loved politics ever since.”
Father-of-six Rees-Mogg said he was “greatly surprised but nonetheless flattered” by the TV star's remarks.
“I am glad Miss Toffolo won and hope this is the launchpad for a glittering career.”
