Police searching for missing Devon teen Daniel Chambers find body in a field
Formal identification of the body found near Ottery St Mary has yet to take place but his family have been informed.
POLICE searching for a missing teenager in Devon have found a body in a field.
Officers have been looking for 15-year-old Daniel Chambers since Wednesday.
He was last seen that morning at around 7.30am leaving home in Tipton St John.
He was supposed to be going to school but was not seen getting on his usual school bus at 8.15am.
The body was discovered this morning in a river next to Tipton St John near Ottery St Mary at 11.00am.
A cordon was put up around the site and it remains in place.
Formal identification of the body is yet to take place but Daniel's family have been told of the discovery.
The death is being investigated but is not thought to be suspicious, according to police.
Sniffer dogs were deployed this morning along with teams from Dartmoor Search and Rescue.
Police divers were also sent to investigate the River Otter.

His mobile phone was last tracked at around 2.30pm on Wednesday, some four miles from his home.
His anxious sister Melissa had written a public Facebook post saying that Daniel's disappearance was "extremely unlike him".
She wrote: "As some of you know my brother Daniel has gone missing in the south Devon area. It's extremely unlike him and he would never do this sort of thing.
"It's thought that he travelled into Sidmouth or Ottery St. Mary, by either walking or catching the 382 bus.
"He could have also walked to Newton Poppleford. His phone location was last tracked near Sidmouth at 2:30pm on Wednesday 13th December.
"Daniel is 6'1, has brown hair and eyes. We believe that he's wearing a black bomber jacket with black chinos."

She later posted an update in which she confirmed a body matching Daniel's description had been found.
"Thank you to everyone who has shared this post and everyone who has helped us in this difficult time. I’m extremely saddened to say that a body has been found that matches Daniel’s description in Tipton St. John by the river.
"Please give me and my family time to absorb and come to terms with this news. Thank you again for all your help."
