Meghan Markle joins the Queen and Prince Harry at Windsor Castle staff Christmas party
MEGHAN Markle joined the Queen's Windsor Castle Christmas party for staff - in a new sign she is effectively a fully fledged member of the Royal Family.
The US actress joined Her Majesty and fiancee Prince Harry at the shindig at the Berkshire residence which will host her wedding in May.
News of her attendance came after she was confirmed as a guest at Sandringham for Christmas - the first time a fiancee has been extended the privilege of an invite usually reserved for spouses.
Meghan made her first trip to Windsor over the weekend before shocking royal staff with an appearance at the bash on Monday alongside 900 guests.
The 36-year-old is clearly fitting in well as she was trusted to work the room alone, shaking hands rather than curtsying as it is a less formal affair.
Footmen, maids, butlers and other staff queued up to congratulate the star, who wore a burgundy, lace cocktail dress.
A guest at the party said: "She asked everyone she met their names and what they did. It was very natural." Kensington Palace declined to comment.
