Chanel x Adidas by Pharrell Williams – world’s most exclusive trainers – released and they’re tipped to fetch £30K on eBay
The £800 shoes have been strictly limited to just 500 pairs and more than 120,000 'sneakerheads' applied to bag a pair
SPORTS giant Adidas today released the world's most exclusive trainers - and they are already tipped to fetch more than £30,000 on ebay.
The £800 Chanel x Adidas NMD Hu shoes have been designed by music star Pharrrell Williams and have a strictly limited release of just 500 pairs.
Justin Timberlake has already been given a pair but the remaining 499 will be sent to those who "get lucky" and have their names drawn out of a hat.
Pharrell designed the sneakers to celebrate Chanel’s takeover of fashion outlet Colette Paris and they already have a hefty price tag.
But the chart star believes the Adidas sneakers will eventually be passed on for £30,000 or even more.
"Well, the N.E.R.D. shoe, I’m told, is at $10,000, so I can only imagine the Chanel one probably will be three to four times more than that. It’s Chanel," .
"Officially, it’s the first time to my knowledge that the Chanel name has appeared on a product made by another brand, so it’s true that this makes it something very special," says creative director of Colette, Sarah Andelman.
The lucky "winners" - of the 120,000 to apply - will receive confirmation emails within the next 24 hours with instructions how to collect their shoes. However, they will still have to foot the £800 bill.
Many will be true collectors but there will still be those out to make a killing on the lucrative re-sale market.
Last week we reported how violence erupted among punters trying to get their hands on different trainers designed by Pharrell aimed at bringing "peace and togetherness" to the world.

The limited edition trainers retail for around £150 but are being sold for up to £2,000 on ebay and other resale sites.
