Brit actress accuses Harvey Weinstein of sex trafficking saying she was ‘groomed in London then attacked in Cannes’
MEDIA mogul Harvey Weinstein is being sued under sex trafficking laws by a British actress who claims he assaulted her in Cannes.
Kadian Noble, 31, said Weinstein groomed her in London by promising a role in a film before attacking her in the French city.
She waived her right to anonymity to launch the first action seeking damages for a "series of sexual assaults".
She alleges Weinstein told her they could work together if she was "a good girl" and did "whatever he wished".
The actress claims he "forcibly pulled" her into the bathroom before stripping and assaulting her.
A spokeswoman for Weinstein said: "Mr Weinstein denies allegations of non-consensual sex. Mr Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances."
The shamed media mogul is being treated at the Meadows rehab centre, in Arizona, after he was accused of abusing and preying upon women in the entertainment industry.
On October 5 the New York Times published an investigation outlining several allegations against him.
In a series of tweets on October 12 Charmed actress McGowan said Weinstein had raped her and claimed that Amazon Studios had ignored her complaints.
She tweeted: "I told the head of your studio that HW raped me. Over & over I said it. He said it hadn't been proven. I said I was the proof."
Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie and Cara Delevingne are among the many high-profile figures to join dozens of women accusing the movie mogul of sexual harassment and assault.
The suit claims Weinstein violated the sex trafficking statute, which prohibits people from recruiting people to engage in a sex act through means of force, threats of force, fraud or coercion.
