Melania Trump unveils lavish White House Christmas display – with help from some festive ballerinas
The First Lady kicked off the holiday festivities by watching three ballerinas dance to 'The Nutcracker Suite,' before settling down for an arts and crafts session with local kids
MELANIA TRUMP showcased her vision of Christmas as she unveiled the White House's elegant decorations before settling down for an arts and crafts session with local kids.
The First Lady kicked off the holiday festivities by watching three ballerinas dance to 'The Nutcracker Suite,' in a room crammed with snow-dusted fir trees.
One young boy exclaimed "she's beautiful, like an angel!" as the Slovenian beauty strode into the East Room.
The decorations include 53 massive Christmas trees festooned with over 12,000 ornaments and 18,000 lights, while the biggest tree stands at 18ft and boasts the seals of all 50 US states.
A framed family Christmas card signed by President Trump, his wife and their 11-year-old son, Barron is on display on a wall, with a 350-pound gingerbread replica of the White House will be unveiled in the White House dining room.
"The President, Barron, and I are very excited for our first Christmas in the White House," Melania Trump said in a statement. "As with many families across the country, holiday traditions are very important to us. I hope when visiting the People's House this year, visitors will get a sense of being home for the holidays."

Ghost of Christmas Present
Merry Christmas one and hall
We have lift-off
Hugging it out
All I want for Christmas is glue
