Police lock milk up in cages to stop thieves from pinching their pints
Suspicious cops have taken to jailing their milk bottles in coded cages and writing names on cups in a bid to stop their colleagues from helping themselves
COPS have started locking their milk up behind bars in a bid to stop tea leaves nicking pints.
Bobbies at Dewsbury police station in West Yorks are now stashing them away in security-coded cages.
Some officers are even writing their names under mugs to stop their cuppas from going missing.
A source said: "You would have thought the milk was safe given it is being stored at a police station.
"It just goes to show that no matter where you go if there is a fridge and it has milk in it someone will nab it.
"No wonder cops are so keen on kettling."
The crime-fighting snaps of the milk under lock and key were posted on Twitter by WPc Sally Baines.
She wrote: "Behold - the cruel practise of caging milk at Dewsbury Police Station (Safeguarding kitchen)."
Follower Lorraine Bone then asks: "Blimey, what do you do to protect the biscuits?"
WPc Baines, who has 3,500 followers, replies: "You don’t want to know."

Another follower says: "I presume the station tea spoon is chained to the sink?"
WPc Baines jokes: "It’s forks we have issues with! Never a fork to be found in a Police Station."
One pal then asks: "So, police are untrustworthy?"
She replies: "They are when it comes to milk!"
A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police declined to comment.
