David Davis faces claims he’s about to quit because he’s so angry with Boris and Gove meddling over Brexit

DAVID DAVIS has been forced to deny rumours he could quit after being undermined by Boris Johnson and Michael Gove.

The Brexit Secretary is said to be enraged by efforts from the Cabinet big beasts to have more input on our EU exit.

Friends have been worried that he might resign in the wake of the row, .

But Mr Davis' spokesman hit back, saying: "It is completely wrong that he is considering resigning and anyone pushing this nonsense in order to undermine Brexit is going to be sorely disappointed."

Mr Johnson and Mr Gove recently sent a long memo to Theresa May encouraging the PM to stay the course on Brexit.

The letter prompted speculation they are trying to sideline Mr Davis and other ministers.

Now it has emerged that the pair asked Mrs May to appoint a new "Brexit czar" who would be in charge of briefing the Cabinet about how the process is going.

They said the PM should form an "Implementation Task Force" or ITF, responsible for all aspects of Brexit across Whitehall.

Mr Gove and Boris wrote: "The ITF leader should have direct authority to mobilise Whitehall on Brexit preparation issues and brief the Cabinet."

Mr Davis is "deeply frustrated" with the way the two men have been cutting him out of the loop, the Mail on Sunday said.

The Foreign Secretary and Environment Secretary have encouraged Mrs May to do more to prepare for the possibility of a no deal Brexit.
