Four out of ten said their sex lives had significantly improved.

Experts believe the op leads to a more relaxed and spontaneous love life by removing the stress of potential pregnancies.

Men also reported higher sex drives, better erections and orgasms and greater satisfaction post-snip.

And the benefits were not just restricted to them. Women reported feeling greater arousal after their partner had the op.

Researchers from Frankfurt University surveyed 294 couples for the study.

It concluded: “We were able to show the sexual satisfaction of men improved and that of the women did not diminish.

“The reason is presumably the absence of anxiety of unwanted pregnancies.”

The German team found 12.4 per cent of the men had sex more often after a vasectomy, while just 4.5 per cent said they were doing it less.

It follows research by Stanford University, US, which discovered snipped blokes had sex 5.9 times a month, compared with 4.9 times for the rest.
