THE biggest collection of Smurf memorabilia in the world could be found in a van parked in Derbyshire.
Robin White, a man with a beard similar to that of Papa Smurf, and his son have been building their collection for years and now have more than 10,000 items.

It all started as a way to tackle Chris’ attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and developed into a hobby.
Robin, 62, dubbed Papa Smurf, : “We have a total of 10,147 Smurfs in total and it’s always growing.
“It started after Chris, who we called Mucky Smurf, watched Smurf 2 in 2013. We went to Poundland and bought some Smurfs and we’ve been collecting them ever since.
“It’s a hobby and helps him to relax and focus his energy.”
The largest Smurf collection in the world has 6,320 pieces, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
Chris and Robin have almost double that figure and could therefore have the largest collection in the world.
Commenting on the impressive collection Chris, 29, said: “I just really like Smurfs and thought it would be fun to collect them.”
Earlier this year a dad has revealed his unusual collection of “haunted” dolls and even claimed one of them tried to kill him with a pane of glass.
Full time carer Barry Collingswood, 63, started picking up the dolls eight months ago and since then has seen his collection swell to more than 30.
