Yorkshire Ripper rushed to hospital after suffering chest pains and a heart scare in prison
YORKSHIRE Ripper Peter Sutcliffe was taken to hospital over a heart scare.
The 71-year-old was sent for treatment after suffering chest pains and shortness of breath.
It came just days after another hospital visit to try to save the failing sight in his right eye.
Staff at HMP Frankland, in Co Durham, took him to the jail’s infirmary where he has been under observation.
A source said: “He got taken in a few days after he had been at the eye infirmary to try and get his vision sorted.
“He was short of breath and then started having chest pains so the staff took him to the infirmary. They didn’t mess about.
“He is worried but he keeps going on about his religious faith as if that is a comfort for him.”
Sutcliffe, serving life for murdering 13 women, has a history of heart problems.
He had a heart attack in 2013 and a crippling angina attack in 2015 on his way to a Bible class while in Broadmoor.
We told last week how Sutcliffe’s fake Rolex was stolen while he was in hospital.
