London nanny avoids jail despite making DOZENS of indecent images of kids
Elliana Ede-Borrett, 23, claimed her ex-partner manipulated her into making the vile images.
A LONDON nanny has avoided jail despite making DOZENS of indecent images of young girls.
Elliana Ede-Borrett pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of a child.
She claimed her ex-partner "manipulated" her into carrying out the sick act.
The 23-year-old, from Croydon, was charged with making 47 vile images, 12 of which were the most serious category, of girls aged between one and six.
District Judge Stephen Dawson said that because of the “unique” circumstances in the case, it would not have been appropriate to give Ms Ede-Borrett a custodial sentence, the reports.
The court hear Elliana formed a relationship with a man from Sunderland online, and he coerced the part-time nanny into sending him images via Dropbox.
Peter Lancaster, prosecuting, said: “Around 2015 she met a man from Sunderland on the internet and got into a relationship with him.
“She downloaded images onto Dropbox and then he would have access to the images. They would communicate with each other over Skype and they would both look at the images and masturbate.
“She said she felt controlled by him and manipulated into doing it. Since the relationship broke up she has not accessed the images since.
“She said it was a dominating relationship and she said she knew the images were disgusting, but she wanted to make him happy.”
He added that he does not believe Ms Ede-Borrett has any attraction to children.
There was no link between the children in the images and the children who were in Ede-Borrett’s care. Alex Rynn, defending, said Ede-Borrett had a hard upbringing and was prone to suicidal thoughts and ‘vulnerable’ to manipulation.
Judge Dawson added that because of this, a custodial sentence would not necessarily be beneficial to Ede-Borrett, or the public, as she would not be rehabilitated as well as she would away from prison.
Ede-Borrett was sentenced to a 60-day community order for all counts, and they will run concurrently.
She will also have to sign on to the Sexual Offenders Register for five years, pay costs of £100 and a victim surcharge of £85.
As well as this, her internet use will be monitored by police.
