Michael Schumacher’s family still hoping for a ‘medical miracle’ that will lead to F1 star’s recovery
The stricken F1 legend is said to be 'doing well under the circumstances' and 'sending signals from his distant world'
THE FAMILY of stricken F1 legend Michael Schumacher are holding out for a "medical miracle", according to reports in the German media.
An article in Brunte magazine claims the seven-time world champion is "sending signals from his distant world" - giving hope that he may one day recover from the catastrophic brain injury suffered in a freak skiing accident.
A family friend claimed the German driver's toned physique is helping do "well in the circumstances", adding that "Corinna and the children hope to this day that a medical miracle happens."
The German driver was placed in a medically induced coma for six months after his horrific accident in 2013, before being moved to a state-of-the-art medical centre at his family home on Lake Geneva.
The F1 legend is reportedly receiving £115k-a-week treatment from a round-the-clock team of 15 physicians and nurses.
Last year Schumacher's team was forced to deny claims made in a German magazine that he was now able to walk with the aid of therapists.
His family, wife Corrina, 46, son Mick, 18, and daughter Gina-Maria, 20, has rarely spoken out about his condition since the accident.
