A GROUP of NHS dinner ladies who call themselves the "Catering Girls" have ditched their jobs after scooping a £25m lottery jackpot - and two are heading to Las Vegas.
The lucky six have now all quit the health service after scooping the EuroMillions prize of £25,476,778.30.
The "Catering Girls" have been playing together for six years at their hospital in Port Talbot, South Wales.
They promised to have “one hell of a Christmas”.
The women also paid tribute to a syndicate member who died last year.
Pals said they considered ditching their weekly punt without Moira.
But her place was taken in October 2016 by catering assistant Louise Ward, 37, whose numbers brought in the win.
Catering assistant Louise said: "I was actually thinking about stopping playing earlier in the year because I've been saving up for my wedding in March and needed the extra cash."
She also said her tumble dryer had broken down and added: “Now I can have a new one in solid gold.”
Syndicate leader Julie Saunders, 56, found out they had won the jackpot while visiting her father in a care home the day after the EuroMillions draw.
Julie, who worked at the hospital for 12 years, said: "Dreams really do come true.
"This win is life-changing for us all and the win is still sinking in.
"We are all so emotional but very, very happy.
"We will celebrate properly together after the excitement has died down.
"I'm not sure we will carry on playing as a syndicate - it is time to give someone else a chance of winning.
“We used to be dinner ladies — now we’re winner ladies.”
The lucky six each won £4,246,129.72.
Five handed in their notices immediately and the sixth had already retired last year.
Syndicate member Doreen said hubby Nigel had yet to get used to the idea of them being millionaires.
She said: “We went shopping to Tesco yesterday and I saw a nice pair of jeans for £35. My husband said, ‘There’s no way you are paying £35 for a pair of jeans’.”
Julie plans to go on holiday to Las Vegas because she's "always loved Elvis."
She vowed to “live the dream” and buy “a new house, new car, new handbag, new shoes — absolutely everything”.
But she added: “We will celebrate together after the excitement has died down but I think it’s time to stop playing the lottery and let someone else have a chance.”
Along with Julie and Louise, the other winners are Doreen Thompson, 56, Jean Cairns, 73, Sian Jones, 54, and Julie Amphlett, 50.
Jean, who retired from the hospital last year after 38 years, has three children - and is also planning a trip to Las Vegas to play on the slot machines.
