ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has fled to Syria from Iraq in a YELLOW TAXI, local media reports
COWARDLY Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi fled Iraq in a yellow taxi before ordering remaining militants to fight to the death, it has been claimed.
An intelligence source how the terror chief picked out the unusual vehicle in a bid to avoid suspicion.
Twisted Al-Baghdadi scarpered as Iraqi troops closed in on previous hideout Rawa - but ordered remaining militants to stay and fight.
But the source revealed how the fanatic was left furious when dozens of terrorists followed his spineless lead by escaping "on board of their personal cars to Syria."
The source added: "In a yellow taxi, Baghdadi fled Iraq and headed to Syria. He is believed to have settled in Deir al-Zor.
"The IS leader insisted on taking a yellow cab in order not to be a source for doubts."
His escape came just weeks after he released a 46-minute tape via the Al-Furqan news organisation to prove he was still alive.
The tape was thought to be fairly recent as he speoke of the recent missile tests and war of words between North Korea and the US.
He says "North Korea is now threatening America and Japan with nuclear power" and "America, Europe and Russia are living in a state of terror... fearing the strikes of the mujahideen".
Al-Baghdadi's last speech was issued in November 2016 where he called to make the "unbelievers" "blood flow as rivers".
The latest recording is titled "Sufficient Is Your Lord As A Guide And A Helper".
Officials had said they thought it would take years to kill or capture the leader as he is thought to be hiding in a desert area between Mosul and Raqqa.
The claims cannot be verified by SunOnline and there have been numerous reports of the ISIS leader's death and escape over the last year.
Russia claimed earlier this year they may have killed Al-Baghdadi in an air strike but the US said it could not confirm his death.
Dramatic footage emerged in June, showing the scorching munitions showering down on to the city and setting buildings ablaze.
Terror officials placed a £20 million bounty on on Al-Baghdadi's head after his hate-filled sermons inspired a series of suicide attacks across Europe.
