FAULT AND PEPPA

Family squealing with laughter after bakery puts picture of USB stick on birthday cake instead of Peppa Pig image saved ON the memory key

A FAMILY told how a ham-fisted bakery had them squealing with laughter over their Peppa Pig birthday cake.

Crossed wires meant a picture of a computer memory stick was printed on the icing instead of an image of the cartoon character.

Limerick mum Karen Moroney had ordered the cake to celebrate her daughter, Layla-Valentina, turning two.

Karen told Sun Online: “They asked me to bring in the image I wanted on the cake on a memory stick and they would scan it on to the cake.

“So I did. The Peppa Pig picture was the only file on the USB.

“But someone got their wires crossed and put a picture of the USB on the cake instead!”

But the cake shop soon put things right by icing over the IT device and printing a picture of the kids’ telly favourite on top.

Karen said: “The cake tasted fab and we all had a laugh in the end . . .  and we got the price of the cake back!”

Layla’s father Kevin Moroney added: “We are laughing about it now. It’s a comedy show.”

But it wasn’t the first time the bakery had messed up with Layla’s birthday cake.

Karen told how they ordered a cake for her first birthday but when she turned up to collect it the treat hadn’t been made.

She said: “We had to come back two hours later for her first birthday cake.

“The cakes are very nice, that’s why we went back again. Hopefully there will be no more drama!”
