Former Labour MP claims to have been inappropriately touched by TWO Tory MPs during time in Parliament

Ex-MP for Conwy, North Wales, Betty Williams has blasted male politicians in the House of Commons — saying they think 'we can do anything we like'.

A FORMER Labour MP has blasted male politicians in the House of Commons — saying they think “we can do anything we like”.

Betty Williams, 73, claims she was inappropriately touched by two Tories during her time in Parliament.

She also described the bullying by males unaccustomed to having women colleagues in Westminster.

The ex-MP for Conwy, North Wales, was one of 101 female MPs voted in during Tony Blair’s 1997 landslide victory.

She told The Sun that when she first entered Parliament she saw male MPs making hand gestures when female colleagues stood up to speak.

Mrs Williams added: “There was this male culture around the place. It was like ‘We can do anything we like’.”

She alleged a Tory MP touched her left breast at a Commons reception and another squeezed her knee during a debate.

Mrs Williams, of Talysarn, North Wales — who stepped down in 2010 — said she will not name the two men.

She said: “I dealt with them both at the time.”
