Energy tsar Andy Samuel also claimed for other cheap food items, including a 99p Yoga Bunny drink, a £1.55 chocolate bar and £1.65 honey cashew nuts.
Details of his spending since October 2016 were revealed following a Freedom of Information request by The Sun.
During one hotel stay Mr Samuel, chief executive of the Oil and Gas Authority, even claimed £3.34 for an optional charge for room service.
He also claimed for meals at Yo Sushi, Pret A Manger, Byron and Leon, and for 15 taxis costing a total of £168.
The TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: “Expensing cashews may seem like peanuts, but it speaks volumes of how little he cares about taxpayers.”
The OGA said staff are reimbursed for work-related travel expenses and the claims all fell within agreed guidelines.
It said Mr Samuel also covers costs himself, even though he does not have to.
