Theresa May rocked by claims a male Tory MP sexually assaulted a male Labour MP
THERESA May has been rocked by claims a male Tory MP sexually assaulted a male Labour MP.
It was said to have happened in a taxi after the pair boozed in a Commons bar.
Friends of the alleged victim say he was traumatised and fears that his drinks were spiked.
The PM was yesterday briefed on the revelation.
A colleague who saw the Labour MP the next day said: “He was very distressed. He even thought a date-rape drug was put in his drinks. But he has no proof.”
The incident is the latest in the sex-pest scandal engulfing Westminster.
In new developments:
- MRS May’s deputy Damian Green was forced to fend off further attempts to undermine his reputation, just days after an activist accused him of touching her knee;
- A SENIOR Tory was accused of putting his hand up a woman’s skirt in a Commons lift;
- SIR Michael Fallon was accused of a sexual assault, emerging three days after he quit as Defence Secretary over his behaviour;
- LABOUR refused to deny it was investigating claims that a senior party figure had groped one of its female MPs;
- TORY chiefs called in police over serious allegations made about Dover MP Charlie Elphicke.
Downing Street is braced for more high-profile resignations and suspensions after a week of chaos.
Senior Labour figures also fear more revelations in their party.
A source said: “There are so many claims, complaints and rumours swirling around that it is taking up lots of time to sift through them all.”
