Phones4U tycoon ‘had partner’s car bugged by private investigator’, she claims
Dauriac says she became increasingly scared of the billionaire after he hired a private investigator to 'dig up' dirt
A FINANCIAL expert in a money battle with billionaire John Caudwell told a court yesterday her car had been bugged.
Nathalie Dauriac, 39, also claimed Phones4u founder Mr Caudwell had hired a private investigator to “dig up” or “create” dirt about her.
She is suing for constructive dismissal from a wealth management company they set up, and compensation for the loss of shares worth £10million.
Ms Dauriac says he launched an “unfair” expenses investigation when she was chief executive at Signia Wealth Management and tried to destroy her reputation and make her “unemployable”.
She told the High Court in a written statement: “I became increasingly scared of Mr Caudwell, especially after it was confirmed to my solicitors that he had hired a private investigator.
“I had the feeling of being followed and so I hired my own investigator, who found traces of a bug under my car and found out my emails were hacked.”
Signia bosses say Ms Dauriac wrongfully claimed around £30,000 expenses and was guilty of gross misconduct. All sides dispute allegations made against them.
The case continues.
