Actress Natassia Malthe claims Harvey Weinstein ‘raped her without a condom in London hotel after Baftas and invited her to threesome’
AN actress has accused Harvey Weinstein of raping her after the BAFTAs and inviting her to a threesome.
Natassia Malthe claims Weinstein burst into her London hotel room and performed a sex act in front of her after the 2008 awards ceremony which he attended with his wife.
The Elektra star told a press conference in New York she felt pressured into telling the movie mogul she was staying at the Sanderson Hotel after being put on the spot.
Natassia, now 43, said she was awoken by “repeated pounding” on her door, and someone shouting: “Open the door Natassia Malthe, it’s Harvey Weinstein.”
She said: “I was mortified and humiliated. There were many industry people staying at the hotel. I was worried that everyone would wake up and think that I was sleeping with him.
“I opened the door. His clothes were messy and his face did not look normal. I wondered if he was on drugs.”
She alleged Weinstein began implying sex would get her a role in an upcoming film while semi-undressed and then began to masturbate.
“He began speaking about various A-list actresses who he claimed had slept with him,” she said. “He told me that these actresses had gotten to where they were because of him and because they had sex with him.”
She claimed Weinstein soon afterwards was on top of her and she was fighting to get him off.
Tearfully, Natassia said: “I was sitting on the bed talking to Harvey when he pushed me back and forced himself onto me.
“It was not consensual. He did not use a condom.
“I was completely grossed out. I believe that I disassociated during the time that he was having sex with me.
“I laid still and closed my eyes and just wanted it to end. I was like a dead person. Afterwards I lay there in complete disgust.”
The next day she received a script, she alleged, before returning to Los Angeles where she said she was given the impression she had landed a role in the movie Nine, a film produced by Weinstein that would star Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman and Judi Dench.
Natassia claimed Weinstein asked her to meet him at the Beverly Hills Peninsula Hotel where he allegedly said an assistant would be present.
But instead he asked her to engage in a threesome with him and another woman, she alleged.
She refused and when she later called him to say a role in a movie was not worth it, he became angry and called her an “ungrateful c***”, she claimed.
Natassia admitted she was at first “reluctant” to come forward with the allegations but hopes her actions will change the way that women are treated in the movie industry.
She said: “It scares me in some ways. However, my closest friends encouraged me to do so. I am also doing it for my three year little boy, so he understands how to respect and treat women and for countless little girls that should never experience what I went through and for all the women that came before me and after me trying to succeed in Hollywood.”
She added: “I had experienced sexual harassment from other powerful men in Hollywood, but my experiences with Harvey were the worst.”
Her lawyer Gloria Allred said Natassia is “considering” whether to make a report to police over the allegation, which is at least the sixth claim of rape against the disgraced producer.
Weinstein, 65, is the subject of criminal investigations in London, New York and Los Angeles and The Weinstein Company (TWC), which he co-founded, is the subject of a civil rights investigation.
TWC, which sacked Weinstein, is also being sued for five million dollars (£3.8 million) by actress Dominique Huett, who claims the studio was negligent for having knowledge of his behaviour.
She alleges the film producer forcibly performed a sex act on her while pleasuring himself.
Weinstein has “unequivocally denied” allegations of non-consensual sex.
