Former Prem star Jamie O’Hara ‘assaulted teen fan’ after losing non-league match
The ex-Premier League and CBB star is alleged to have assaulted a 16-year-old boy following an angry clash with rival fans last April
REALITY TV star and ex Premier League ace Jamie O’Hara has been charged with assaulting a teenage football fan.
The Celebrity Big Brother star, 31, is alleged to have lashed out at the 16-year-old boy after an angry clash with rival fans last April when his non-league team Billericay Town lost 3-2 to Leatherhead.
O’Hara, who signed for the Essex club in March for £10,000 a week, was taunted during the match with chants of "What a waste of money’’.
Footage posted on social media at the time appeared to show the ex-Spurs midfielder in a spat with fans as he was walking off after the Ryman Premier League defeat.
During the match O’Hara earlier leapt on to a fence when a Leatherhead fan refused to give the ball back after it went out of play.
He was later fined two weeks wages by the club following the incident which was exclusively revealed by the Sun on Sunday.
Surrey Police said: “A 31-year-old man has been summonsed to court in relation to an assault on a teenage boy.
"The incident took place following a football match in Leatherhead on April 15. The man is due to appear at Guildford Magistrates Court on November 10.’’
Last week O’Hara announced his engagement to lingerie model Elizabeth-Jayne Tierney, 25, after going through a bitter split with his ex Danielle Lloyd.
