Bomb squad called to Amazon depot in Gourock as hundreds of workers evacuated over a suspicious package

A BOMB squad has been called to an Amazon depot in Inverclyde after workers were evacuated over a suspicious package.
Emergency services raced to the plant on Cloch Road, Faulds Park Gourock around 5.15am this morning.
Staff spilled out onto the street as the building was locked down as the firm prepares for the Christmas rush.
Police confirmed the EOD was later called in.
A source said: "The whole staff have been evacuated and fire service and police are there.
"We were told to go home and that we would come back after the place was given the all clear.
"Hundreds of staff have been sent home, they're all out on the street."

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 5.15am today police received a report of a suspicious package found at a depot in Gourcok.
"Emergency service are in attendance and the premises has been evacuated as a precaution.
"The item will be examined and enquiries are ongoing.
"EOD are now in attendance."
The Scottish Fire Service confirmed they were in attendance.
