What happened to Becky Watts?

Becky Watts was a 16-year-old student living in Bristol with her dad Darren Galsworthy and his wife Angie in 2015.

She was reported missing on February 20 at around 4pm by her family who said her disappearance was "out of character".

A social media campaign called #FindBecky was launched, but it was already too late.

It later emerged the tragic teen had been murdered the day before she was reported missing.

The date of her death was revealed as February 19, 2015, which was the day of her brother Dan's 20th birthday.

Her body was discovered chopped up and hidden as part of a sick kidnap plot by her evil step-brother Nathan Matthews and his girlfriend Shauna Hoare.

Becky had suffered more than 40 injuries as she desperately fought for her life against the evil pair - before she was eventually suffocated and her corpse sawn up in a bath.

The cold-blooded killers then bundled Becky’s body into the boot of their Vauxhall Zafira — before staying at the family home for another six hours as if nothing had happened.

Back at their home two miles away Becky’s corpse was chopped into eight pieces with an £80 circular saw bought from B&Q.

Who is Nathan Matthews?

Takeaway delivery driver Nathan Matthews, son of Anjie Galsworthy, was brought up by his grandmother Margaret May and her husband Christopher.

He suffered pain, depression and anxiety from an early age after being diagnosed with a rheumatic condition called fibromyalgia.

He was in a relationship with quiet but hard-working Shauna Hoare who cared for his disabled mum at the time of Becky's death.

She grew up in care as a child before moving back in with her birth mum Lisa Donovan who had seven other children.

But the pair were hiding dark secrets behind their seemingly normal lives, sharing a warped sexual obsession with petite teenagers and threesome sex sessions.

In the weeks before Becky's death, Matthews and his girlfriend, who lived together in A housing association terraced house in Bristol, had exchanged intimate messages about kidnapping girls.

On February 19, 2015, they went to Becky's home armed with a “kidnap kit” including handcuffs and two stun guns.

During the five-week trial at Bristol Crown Court, Nathan told the jury how he closed his eyes as he dismembered his step-sister's body with a circular saw.

He then put nine-stone Becky in a red suitcase to take back to his home, before offering a friend £10,000 to store items for him.

Despite all this, they ordered a takeaway, played a game of Monopoly and laughed over a parody song from Frozen called Do You Want to Hide a Body?

How did Shauna Hoare behave around police?

New footage has also emerged which shows Shauna Hoare smiling as she gets a thrill out of lying to cops after butchering her killer boyfriend's step-sister Becky Watts.

Harrowing footage shows Hoare getting a thrill as she tries duping cops as she and Matthews spin a web of lies.

But experts on Investigation Discovery's Faking It: Tears Of A Crime have revealed how Hoare gave away tell-tale signs while being grilled by cops.

Cliff Lansley points out Hoare smiles as she's asked about Becky's disappearance, saying: "This is what we call ‘duping delight'; it’s the thrill you get from getting away with a lie.

"Those little smiles, she can’t control them… she thinks she’s winning here."

What sentences did Nathan Matthews and Shauna Hoare?

In November 2015, Matthews, was convicted of her murder and sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 33 years.

Hoare was found guilty of Becky's manslaughter and sentenced to 17 years in prison.

In June 2016 the couple lost a bid to quash their combined sentences of 50 years for her murder.

Judges said they were satisfied there is "no reasonable argument" that the convictions were "unsafe or that the sentences were wrong".

What has Becky's dad said since his daughter's murder?

Darren Galsworthy has previously lashed out at his wife Anjie's son who he treated as his own son, saying it was a "despicable act of evil that can never be forgiven or forgotten".

Since his conviction, Anjie has admitted she still loves her killer son, "but not the monster he turned into".

Darren has admitted turning to prescription drugs to numb the pain of losing his teenage daughter.

He says he blames himself for not protecting Becky from killers Nathan Matthews and his girlfriend Shauna Hoare.

Speaking on the two-year anniversary of Becky's death, he told : "On this day Becky fought her battle for her life and lost.

"The thought of this day destroys me.

"As a father I feel I should have been there to protect her. But I went to work to provide for my family.

"I am on a lot of tablets now and I'm not sure how I'm going to get through it."
