Six yobs shoot firework onto Islington bus as passengers cower in fear

THIS is the terrifying moment fireworks were fired into a London bus.

A man can be seen clutching a rocket before it flies into the bus through an open door, with passengers screaming in fear.

The public transport passengers could be seen ducking for cover as the bright sparks zoomed around the inside of the bus destined for Angel.

It is understood that the video was taken last weekend, with the bus travelling from Angel Islington to Camden stopped on York Way at the time.

Passengers can be heard screaming and swearing as the bright flashes bounce between seats and the bus’s yellow poles.

The lads can then be seen running from the scene.

A witness shared the video, writing: “Last weekend, we were randomly attacked by a group of 6 guys shooting at us with fireworks, thankfully no one got injured, police was finally called.”

The video was shows passengers getting out of the bus, with those involved in the attack running from the scene.

It is not clear whether the offenders were caught.

No one was hurt.

Steve Burton, from Transport for London, said: “This idiotic behaviour is extremely dangerous and will not be tolerated.

“We are working with Metropolitan Police to ensure appropriate action is taken.”

Metropolitan Police said the “anti social behaviour” was being investigated.

The only time that fireworks can be set off in public places is between 11pm and 7am is on Bonfire Night, New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year.

Fireworks can only be purchased for the events between October 15 to November 10, December 26 to 31 and three days before Diwali and Chinese New Year.

An individual can be fined up to £5,000 and imprisoned up to six months for selling or using fireworks illegally.

It comes after a young boy was blinded by fireworks at a public display.

The out-of-control rocket knocked Tyler to the floor and set him on fire as mum watched on in horror.
