Who is Harvey Weinstein's brother Bob?

Bob Weinstein was born in Flushing, New York, in October 1954.

He and his brother Harvey Weinstein, 65, built a huge empire together starting out in Buffalo, New York, organising rock concerts.

Bob founded Dimension Films and co-founded The Weinstein Company with his brother Harvey, with the pair now understood to own a combined 42 per cent of the company.

The brothers were previously co-chairmen of Miramax Films, which they also co-founded and named after their parents Miriam and Max, before selling it to Disney in the 1990s for around £60million.

Bob, 62, has hundreds of production credits to his name, including Pulp Fiction, The English Patient and several Quentin Tarantino hits.

He been nominated for 12 Primetime Emmy Awards and won a slew of others including a 1996 Bafta which he shared with his brother for excellence in film.

But he has shunned the limelight far more than his older sibling, 65, who always courted celebrity more.

What's Bob Weinstein’s net worth?

Bob Weinstein has a net worth of around $300million (£228million) according to .

He is now sole chairman of The Weinstein Company after Harvey was sacked in the wake of the sex claims against him being made public.

Bob said in 2016 the company was worth a minimum of $700-800million (£533-609million).

But  has cast doubt over the firm’s value, pointing to alleged debts, increased competition and the likely cost of the fallout from the sex scandal.

How has Bob Weinstein responded to the sexual abuse claims against his brother?

After the initial allegations were reported, Bob Weinstein said he was "mortified and disgusted by my brother's actions".

Bob was one of the four directors of The Weinstein Company to sack Harvey as chairman.

They released a joint statement announcing the decision “in light of new information about misconduct by Harvey Weinstein that has emerged in the past few days”.

Harvey now believes his brother leaked the information with the express intention of removing him from the company, reports .

Bob told the celebrity gossip site: “My brother Harvey is obviously a very sick man.

“I've urged him to seek immediate professional help because he is in dire need of it."

He added: “He has proven himself to be a world class liar and now rather than seeking help he is looking to blame others. His assertion is categorically untrue from A to Z.”

Harvey also resigned his seat on the company board after a showdown with his brother and other board members.

What has Bob Weinstein been accused of?

TV executive Amanda Segel has claimed Bob Weinstein sexually harassed her last year - which he denies.

Ms Segel - who was executive producer of sci-fi series Mist, made by the Weinstein Co - said he made repeated romantic overtures and requests to join him for private dinners over the course of three months.

She claimed it only stopped after threats from her lawyer that she would leave the show if he did not stop, .

She told Variety: "After 'no', anybody who has asked you out should just move on.

"Bob kept referring to me that he wanted to have a friendship. He didn't want a friendship. He wanted more than that.

"My hope is that 'no' is enough from now on."

Lawyer Bert Fields said the report is "riddled with false and misleading assertions" by Ms Segel.

He said: "And we have the emails to prove it. But even if you believe what she says it contains not a hint of any inappropriate touching or even any request for such touching.

"There is no way in the world that Bob Weinstein is guilty of sexual harassment and even if you believed what this person asserts there is no way it would amount to that."
