Corrie McKeague’s girlfriend reveals she has named their baby daughter after the missing RAF airman
THE girlfriend of missing RAF airman Corrie McKeague has paid a touching tribute to him - giving their daughter the middle name "Corrie".
April Oliver, 21, discovered she was pregnant with the 23-year-old's child four months after he went vanished in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk on September 24 2016.
The 21-year-old, who gave birth to Ellie-Louise in June, revealed her baby's middle name after she posted a picture of the tot's first painting on Facebook.
Thanking her loved ones for their support since her boyfriend's disappearance, she wrote: "Some days are good and some are bad as I'm sure you can all imagine, but it's days like this when Ellie and I had fun in producing her very first painting that are good days.
"I must say it came with slobber and mess but lots of giggles as I watched my daughter lay on the table and create this.
"I can't thank you all enough for the support that you have all given right from the start, it gets me through day to day, so I just wanted to share this little thing as it makes me so proud."
The personal trainer met Corrie via a dating site, four months before he vanished after a night out with friends.
Her announcement comes days after Suffolk cops prepared to resume the search for Corrie, "after thorough consideration of all the issues involved".
Corrie was last seen in the area of Bury St Edmunds known as the "horse shoe" where there was a bin lorry collection around 4.15am -4.20am.
The Major Investigation Team had concluded they will search the same landfill site in Cambridgeshire which they originally launched their search for the missing lad.
Only one bin was collected from the area that morning. Waste from it was initially taken to a transfer station at Red Lodge and then to the Milton landfill site.
A review of the Suffolk police investigation is being conducted by the East Midlands Special Operations Unit.
