Brits want Sir David Attenborough on the next £20 note, survey reveals…but would he be YOUR choice?

VETERAN broadcaster Sir David Attenborough is the UK's top choice to be on the next £20 note, a survey has claimed.

The survey asked which 'ethical champions' Brits would want to have the honour of appearing on the note, with the 91-year-old even beating Prince Charles to the top spot.

40% of the 2,128 Brits surveyed said they wanted Sir David, but a mere 7% opted for Prince Charles.

The Planet Earth presenter was picked from a list of 14 names, all chosen because they would "remind the public to be ethical in how they spend their money."

They included Harry Potter author JK Rowling, who only received 4% of the vote, and the Body Shop founder Anita Roddick.

Although Sir David is often dubbed a 'national treasure' for his contribution to British society, the broadcaster hasthe term as "a very one dimensional image."

The next new version of the £20 note is due to come into circulation in 2020 - but unluckily for Sir David, the face has already been picked.

Artist J.M.W. Turner, one of Britain's most famous artists, will be featured on the note.

It will be the first time an artist has appeared on a British bank note.

Charlene Cranny, programme manager at the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association said of the survey: "It's no surprise that Sir David Attenborough came out top in this poll.

"With his endless conservation work, he would act as a constant reminder to the public to make 'ethical' money choices."

The new series of Sir David's hit show, the Blue Planet, returns to screens later this month after a TWENTY-YEAR break, with the star narrating and presenting the exploration into the world's oceans.
