Dozens of knives confiscated from visitors to the Natural History Museum
Almost 70 knives have been confiscated from visitors to the London museum
POLICE displayed a terrifying haul of knives yesterday — confiscated from visitors to the Natural History Museum.
The 67 blades, which included kitchen knives, were found in bags by security during routine searches at the entrance.
Nearly 20 of the blades appear to be wooden-handled locking knives easily bought in souvenir shops scattered around the capital.
And 13 are easy-to-hide Swiss Army knives in a range of sizes.
A spokesperson said: "It is a condition of entry that we do not permit certain prohibited articles into the Museum for the safety of all and to protect the exhibitions.
"As a consequence, these articles are seized during bag checks."
Six million people visit the tourist attraction in Kensington, West London, every year.
