Bride without a dress 30 MINUTES before her wedding rescued as boutique whips up last minute bespoke gown
After being let down by her dressmaker, Nathalie Lout was left without a dress on the morning of her wedding, until a local boutique came to her rescue
A BRIDE left without a gown for her wedding was rescued from a dress disaster by a bridal boutique just 30 MINUTES before the ceremony.
Nathalie Lout was let down by her dressmaker at the last minute and was left scrambling for a dress on the morning of her wedding to groom Michael Corcoran.
The quick thinking wedding photographer called Courtyard Bridal Boutique in Kettering and within minutes their team jumped into action, rushing to the wedding venue with a selection of dresses and a sewing machine.
Arriving at the wedding venue just 30 minutes before the ceremony was due to start, the team found a distressed Nathalie dressed in just a plain slip.
With the clock ticking, the bride picked an elegant satin dress from Spanish bridal atelier Pronovias, called Niagara, but it needed altering.
Lizzie Adams and her team frantically trimmed and sewed the dress to fit, and Nathalie walked down the aisle at midday, just 30 minutes later than planned.
Speaking to , Nathalie explained how she had been unable to contact her dressmaker in the days leading up to her nuptials.
Her final fitting had been ten days before the wedding, and she was told the dress would be ready by Thursday or Friday, but Friday rolled around and they hadn’t been in touch.
She said: “I called them about ten times and left multiple voicemails. Mike even went around there in person but the shop was closed and there was no note on the door.”
She even sent her sisters, who had travelled over from France, on the morning of the wedding.
Taking matters into her own hands, she got in contact with Courtyard Bridal and had her emergency fitting with just minutes to spare.
She confessed: "I obviously felt sad and upset that I did not have a dress for my wedding, but I tried to stay calm."
She picked the chic Niagara dress, which was nothing like the traditional lace gown she had originally planned to wear, but said she "would not have changed it."
Nathalie, who moved to London from Paris in 2011, broke down in tears when she saw her new dress and admitted she couldn’t have done it without the hard work of Lizzie Adams and her team.
And the rest of the wedding when off without a hitch.
She revealed that the originally dressmaker arrived at the venue with the original dress two hours after the ceremony. She apologised and has since refunded them the money.
