Hugh Hefner’s widow Crystal Harris said sex drug Viagra made Playboy founder DEAF
HUGH Hefner's widow Crystal Harris said impotence drug Viagra made the Playboy magnate DEAF in a 2011 radio interview.
The 31-year-old was interviewed on New York shock jock Howard Stern's show in 2011 after she broke off her first engagement to Hef.
Harris was December 2009's Playmate of the Month and had unexpectedly broke up with the magazine mogul, who was then 85, in June 2011 five days before their wedding.
The next month she appeared on the show and was asked about their sex life.
She said: "He tries not to take Viagra any more because it makes him lose his hearing."
Harris, whose parents were British and once lived in a pub in West Bromwich, also said that Hefner lasted "about two seconds" in bed.
She said: "Hef doesn’t really take off his clothes.
"I have never seen him naked... I am not turned on by Hef. Sorry."
However, the pair reconciled and eventually married in December 2012.
The month before the 2011 interview Karissa and Kristina Shannon, twins who used to be his lovers, made a similar claim.
Karissa said: “He said he would rather have sex than have his hearing. He has hearing aids now and even then he can only hear out of one ear.
“You have to lean down and talk into his good ear for him to understand you.
“We could sit right next to him and he wouldn’t have a clue what we said.”
US Weekly reports Hefner's massive $43 million (£32 million) fortune will be divided among his children, charities and the University of Southern California film school.
Hefner, the pipe-smoking embodiment of the lifestyle he touted, died at his LA home of natural causes last night, Playboy said in a statement.
Hefner is survived by Crystal as well as his daughter, Christie; and his sons, David, Marston and Cooper.
Playboy announced no immediate funeral plans, but Hefner owned a plot in a Los Angeles cemetery next to Marilyn Monroe.
Paying tribute, the firm behind the magazine described Hefner as "the American icon who in 1953 introduced the world to Playboy magazine and built the company into one of the most recognisable American global brands in history."
His son Cooper said "my father lived an exceptional and impactful life as a media and cultural pioneer and a leading voice behind some of the most significant social and cultural movements of our time in advocating free speech, civil rights and sexual freedom.
"He defined a lifestyle and ethos that lie at the heart of the Playboy brand," he continued.
Hefner has four children from his two previous marriages.
His daughter Christie who was born in 1952 and son David, born in 1955, were from his frist marriage to Mildred Williams, who he was with from 1949 to 1959.
His younger two sons – Marston, born in 1990, and Cooper, born in 1991 – were from his marriage to Playboy’s “Playmate of the Year”, Kimberly Conrad.
He split with Kimberley in 2010 – the same year he announced his engagement to his current partner.
At the time of his death, Hefner’s net worth was estimated to be around £40million.
His fortune is believed to have totalled some £160million in years gone by, but was hit hard when Playboy’s stock lost 80 per cent of its value.
